Science Week at Foxhill
We’ve had a great week at Foxhill during Science Week! All the children have been learning lots of new things through a wide range of different experiences.
From starting off on Monday morning with a whole School Science Assembly, a visit from some exotic creatures thanks to our friends at Zoo Lab, right through to working in different classrooms running different experiments.
Science Week 2014
Foxhill Trust Fund
As you are probably aware the hire of transport is very expensive and greatly increases the amount we need to ask parents to contribute towards the majority of school visits. With this in mind Foxhill has set up a School Trust Fund.
As well as funding other ventures in school, some of the proceeds from the Trust fund will be used to help reduce the costs of one school visit a year per class. This year each class will have £100.00 towards their educational visit during the Summer term.
We hope to keep the Fund buoyant by taking a small percentage from various ‘school based’ fundraising events for the Trust Fund (e.g. Penalty Shoot Out, Enterprise Day). When holding a fundraising event we will always make it clear if any proceeds are to be set aside for the Trust Fund. However it will never include any PTA events as the PTA funds are entirely separate and therefore excluded.
Shoe Box Appeal
Once again we would like to support the ‘Family Shoe Box Appeal’ in the run up to Christmas. This week the children were all involved in a special assembly. We watched a programme about the quality of life for people in Romania and what happens to our shoeboxes once they arrive.
There are three weeks for you to fill and wrap your boxes which will be displayed in the hall. However we must have all your shoeboxes in school by Friday, 24th October, at the latest, so they can be collected for shipment.
Parents Evening Time!
It’s nearly that time again! Parents Evening is just round the corner! Click Here for more information.
Once again we are looking forward to taking all the children (from Reception to Year 6) to the Theatre at Christmas. Last year’s trip was a huge success and the children always enjoy themselves.

Meet the Teachers
Come into school at 2.30pm and have a look around your child’s class and meet the Teacher!
- Thursday 18th September……………..Year 5
2013 – 2014 School Year
A letter can be seen from the Chair of Governors on The Governing Body Page.
The School Photographer will be visiting the Children on Friday 19th September. For some more information read the latest letter here.
Many parents already support us by using the Giving Machine to start their online shopping. It is a fantastic site to add to your list of ‘favourites’. Parents who shop online may nominate our school as a beneficiary, and then we will receive funding from the shops not the parents! If you can use this facility it will mean a lot to us.
For example every £500 received from the Giving Machine amounts to £31.00 per class. We would like to use the donations we receive to offset the cost of hiring coaches for school trips.
For more information you can download our letter Here
As in previous years, we’re supporting the Bradford Food Bank. As usual we’re asking for donations of Tins, Tea and Coffee, Pasta, Rice and Dried Food.
For more information read our Harvest Letter.
Foundation & Key stage 1: Friday 26th September at 2.15pm

Foxhill would like to invite you all to our PTA meeting on Tuesday 16th September at 7:3o. The meeting will be more of a get together to come up with some ideas to help raise some funds, to get your children – those extra little bits.
Revolution Show Corps Percussion Workshop
Drum instructors Aiden and Richard came along with Corps Director Oliver to run a Drum Workshop with Year 5. Oliver, who runs the local Band wanted the Children at Foxhill to experience a different style of percussion.
Richard started off with the Band at an early age and is now a full time Percussion Tutor. He has had the chance to teach many famous drummers.
You can find out more about the Band on their Website.
World Cup Day
Year 4 Teacher, Mr Backhouse arranged a special one off World Cup day. All the classes were allocated to a team and throughout the day they competed in their own mini World Cup Competition.
At the end of the day the winning team was Ghana! Only time will tell to see if this is a reflection of the real event!
A massive ‘thank you’ to all of you who supported our two Sport-related
fund raising events lately. First of all we managed to raise £174.16 for Sport Relief by dressing in our Sporting Outfits!Secondly we have managed to raise a great deal of money at our Penalty Shoot Out event with Bradford
City! We raised a staggering £1,558.65 which will help buy ‘brand new’ PE equipment for school.
Fundraising plays a massive part in the Schools’ budget. It is also really important for the Children to be given the chance to do something that will help other people and we’d like to thank you for your support during these 2 events!
Parent Pay Arrives at Foxhill!
We appreciate that many working parents sometimes find it difficult to call into school to pay for school visits. meals etc. and are often reluctant to send large amounts of money with their children.
We are delighted to inform you that in the Summer term Foxhill will be introducing a more convenient way for parents to pay for these things, in the comfort of their own homes using ParentPay.
For more details download this Letter.
Congratulations are in order for Corey and Ross Knight who took the Great Heights Talent Show title on Thursday 20th March.
This makes it the third time that Foxhill has managed to secure the Talent Title!
Unfortunately Parking in the School Car Park is now suspended. To read more please download our latest letter below.
