Hello to parents, carers and all pupils in year 3.
As you all know Mrs Parker has been off for a short while and in her absence I (Miss Dyson) have been working with year 3.
We have been very busy getting to know each other and have been getting up to lots of interesting things!
At the moment we have a theme in class of rainforests. The children have really been enjoying finding out all about the rainforest and we are in the process of creating an exciting display in the classroom.
As well as this we have been looking at The Jungle Book in our literacy lessons. We have been thinking about writing our own version of the third chapter and even did some drama work to inspire our writing!
Here are some reminders for you:
As you may know we are in the process of selecting a new school council. So far we have had four candidates step forward for the job. If anyone else is interested I would like for all submissions to be put forward by Monday so we can have a vote in class. To apply we need to know what would make you a great school councillor. You can write on the blog, make a poster or write a letter which will be presented to the class before voting.
We are also creating our Easter bonnets/hats on Wednesday 28th so we need all plans and any resources you have collected to be brought into school by then. Let’s get creative!
Finally! For our rainforest display it would be really nice if the children could collect some natural resources such as fallen leaves and twigs to create a realistic forest floor!
Thank you for your co-operation and I hope to keep you updated as things progress!
