Chocolate poetry

In Year 1 we have been working on some poetry. We have begun looking at acrostic poems to see if we can identify any similies, rhyme, onomatopoeia and alliteration.

Here is one we have created together about our thoughts on chocolate!

Can you create an acrostic poem to share with us?

Thank you

Miss Sugden

Creamy crunchy melted chocolate

Hard chocolate melts in hot milk

Open your mouth for an Oreo chocolate

Camel chocolate with nuts in

Orange chocolate popping on my tongue

Long thin chocolate fudge, quite sticky

Aero advent calendar with chocolate bubbles

Toblerone triangles like cats ears

Eggciting Easter on its way

‘Oh its melting on my tongue!’
Give yourself a team point in the morning for your effort and come get a special sticker off me!
I will print a copy off and we can put it on the poetry wall in our classroom.

    My acrostic poem, by Finn.

    Chocolate coins
    Have to unwrap them
    Open them carefully
    Chocolate treasure inside!
    Oh ! They’re delicious!
    Lovely & crunchy
    All gone already!
    Take some of my sisters…
    Eat them as well !

  4. Here is my acrostic poem about the snowman I made this weekend
Spherical and the world looks like
    Narnia
    Oh so cold
    Water all icy and then
    Melts
And he wears a funny hat
    Not at all scary
    Hope you like it x

Here’s my poem, from Freddie Ketts

I want to learn to tell the time,
I also want to make a rhyme.

    It’s very windy outside today,
so we cannot go out to play!

All the leaves are blowing around,
    making a swishy swashy sound.
