Pupils in 6JC were reading some letters sent to us by Year 6 at Parkland primary this morning. Pupils there were very interested in our olympic torch and wanted to know if we would be visiting their school and sent some lovely letters to ask if we would do this.
Some of the pupils in 6JC agreed to immediately write back to Parkland primary to agree to do this and most pupils felt quite honoured that pupils from other schools are so interested in the Olympic torch project.

… it will be an honour to bring the Olympic torch to your school because you are part of the community and it would be a shame to leave you out. The Olympic torch has been around 78 schools and there are over 200 schools in Bradford. We are trying to take it round all of them! We are taking our Olympic torch around the schools because it shows that we are all a community. Also it means that we are all friendly, that is why the project is called one city, many faces.

We have already took our Olympic torch to 78 schools and it will be a pleasure to take it to your school and it will be great to meet you and we would be very pleased. The reason why we do this is to see and make so many friends in different schools around Bradford.

…the reason why we take our torch to other schools are to get to know other schools in Bradford. We are also doing it because it is Olympic year and we are sending the torch to different schools just like the Olympics where they send the torch to different cities in the world.
It made us realise that there are many different reasons to make links in the community and using the olympic torch was a really good way of meeting people in our local area and looking at what makes us the same or what differences there are.
The real Olympic torch is going to be passing through Bradford soon, Sunday 24th June going past Lister Park and into the City Centre.
Will you go and see it? Does anyone know why it is travelling from city to city anyway?

I woudn’t miss it for the world,if my parents say no then I will beg them until they say yes. Also Lister Park and the City Centre aren’t far from where I live.
I would come and watch it so I don’t think Awaba needs to worry about begging. There might be a rush but I’m sure we’ll manage.
Wow, I would definetly come and watch. Also I wonder who will be holding it znd running?
I would like to go to lister park when the real olympic torch will be there.
I think the real olympic torch with rings looks great!
Wow, we are really pleased to see that we have made it onto your blog! We loved receiving your letters and can’t wait to meet you and be part of your exciting project.
