Year 5 have been learning all about China for their Creative Curriculum topic. We have now come to the end of the topic and to demonstrate what we have learnt we are holding our own Chinese restaurant.
We have had to research Chinese dishes, plan a menu, design the layout of the classroom, make traditional Chinese decorations and design a questionnaire to help evaluate the success of the restaurant.
Some children in 5WS have also made adverts trying to persuade people to come. They have used two different media – filming on a Ipod and using the Doodlecast programme. The children have learnt some new ICT skills and are very proud of their finished results.

Wow year 5, the chinese restaurant sounds fantastic. I’d love to be there on Thursday to taste the delicious choices of food you will make but unfortunately I can’t be.

I think the chinese resturant is great because last year our class did a french resturant .
I think this restaurant will be fun because lots of people will come and will enjoy themselves. I think one of the most enjoyable things, will be tasting the fabulos food and looking at the magnificent decorations.

I was collaborating to make the Chinese restaurant. Loads and loads of parents were arriving. I hope they had a great time. Also I enjoyed it. It was just………..ENJOYABLE!!! It took a lot of time to sort everything out for he Chinese restaurant like placemats,napkins,finding the ingredients. On the day we had our own jobs. The jobs were serving drinks and food,Asking what the parent wanted,making salad ,making noodles and just to be a bit more helpful we asked if the parents were ok and if they wanted something else.
