A Day in the Dales

Year 5 were lucky enough this year to be given the funding to visit the countryside. The funding was given by The Craig Charity. We spent all week learning what it’s like to live in the city and contrasted that with what it’s like to live in the countryside. We wrote poems and produced art work but the highlight of the week was our trip to Buckden in the Yorskhire Dales.

After an exciting journey, we were dropped off in the village of Starbotton and embarked on a wonderful countryside walk. It gave us the opportunity to experience for ourselves life in the countryside, wonder at the stunning views and ask lots of interesting questions.

Here are some of the children’s comments about the day

“We walked through the fields and enjoyed looking at the streams.”  – Sana
“I enjoyed being in the countryside.”  – Mujahid
“I loved walking through the countryside, it was the best day.”  – Maariyah
“We saw lambs and sheep which looked very cute.”  - Rohan
“It was lovely to smell the fresh air.”  - Aleesha A
“It was a lot different to the city because there wasn’t many roads.”  – Murtazaa
