Eggstravaganza!

Our School Council asked if we could hold an egg decorating competition, this was considered to be a great idea so we asked the children to decorate a hard boiled egg in whatever way they wanted.  Since then the eggs have rolled in and we have been amazed at the variety, imagination, attention to detail and innovation of the entries.

We have had eggs decorated as bees, ladybirds, celebrities, spiders, rabbits and clowns.  We have spotted John Bishop, Lady GaGa, Homer and Marge Simpson, Minnie and Mickey Mouse.  We liked the word play in “Eggsplosion”, “Eggshausted”, Harry the Eggjog, and The Eggs factor.  There were sporting themes in netball, wrestling, rugby and  scuba diving eggs.  There were rabbits, cats, peacocks, chicks, sheep and mice.  Angry birds sat alongside Cleopatra, several Humpties had fallen off several walls and there were eggs decorated in very colourful paint designs.  Well done to the families of Nessfield for such an eggsellent effort.  The eggs will be judged by our panel consisting of Mrs Wright, Mrs Tetley, Mrs Gabrielli and Mrs Marshall. The winners will be announced in Friday’s assembly.

Take a look at the photos below.  Which would you have selected as the winner and why?

I thought there were so really good designs everyone has done a really good job even though I did not do an egg because I forgot about egg day I could have won if I had brought an egg.

I think these are eggcellent! I’ve really enjoyed looking at them in the entrance hall. The effort that people have put in has been fantastic. My favourites have to be x factor, egghausted and the Minnie and Micky mouse! Well done every one.

Because it is the diamond jubilee I have done a union jack flag with sequins and put googly eyes on it to make it look like a queen I put it in a throne and made a crown for the top of it i think all the eggs are really good.
