There are many possible opportunities for using podcasts across the whole curriculum. The following ideas only scratch the surface of the possibilities of Web 2.0 technologies.

A podcast guide to:-

• the school for new pupils, parents and visitors.
• a curriculum activity in the school grounds (science topic on mini-beasts/habitats).
• the local area around the school (geography topic).
• the school library and ICT resources for younger pupils.
• off-site guides become even more numerous and open-ended in range and scope.
• interviewing a historical character i.e. a pharaoh or Florence Nightingale.
• audio books for younger children.
• MFL - Weather forecasts around the world.
• city guides – going to places and using voice recorders to capture information to use in podcasts. Episodic in nature due to “listen out for the next landmark” – this could be adapted to a guide to the school locality for newcomers.
• school newsletter – what is going on in school.
• a specific occasion – we have heard podcasts about Holy Week talking about the background, people, what happened on each day.  It could be something specific that is coming up during the Autumn or Spring Term and a “diary” of the build up to that event could be recorded.
• a "diary" of a sporting event i.e. Rugby World Cup, Premiership season etc.
