Smart Notebook Advanced User Certificate - Session 1 Overview Demonstrate an understanding of the basic tools available on the toolbars and menus in the Smart Notebook software including the customisation of the Notebook software, floating tools and pens. Demonstration and modelling. Look at the use of the tool bar for basic presentation preparation including use of full screen and screen. Look at how these tools can be configured for best use and why to use a background colour for health and safety reasons. Look at the control panel and model how to change basic pen settings etc. to get the best performance from the board. Demonstrate how to import text from other sources. Create shapes that contain text boxes and model hide and reveal techniques. Discuss how to best access the clip art gallery. Look at the use of the menu and demonstrate grouping, locking, cloning, spelling, etc. Model some examples of using these features to support teaching and learning in literacy, mathematics. Teacher task Become familiar with the features modelled above and produce your own teaching resource that demonstrates an understanding of using the features of the software effectively to support teaching and learning. Your resource should include objects that have been locked and a hide and reveal technique. The Notebook file should include clear instructions how to use the resource and clear teaching objectives for the resource.
