Smart Notebook Advanced User Certificate - Session 3
Demonstrate an understanding of how to collect, import, organise and manage video files and flash activities effectively using appropriate strategies and tools to support teaching and learning.
Demonstration and modelling.
Look at sources of video clips on the internet and through commercial organisations. Discuss the various types of video clip and how they can be viewed and saved. Model hyper linking video clips in Smart Notebook and using the capture tool to take still images. Create a teaching sequence around a video clip with clear objectives and evaluate how the 'technology' enhances the teaching and learning of that objective.
Gather one or several video clips from any of the sources discussed or available through the website. Link / embed the video clip into a notebook file. The first page of this file should include the objective of the lesson and instructions for using your notebook file. Describe what you expect the children to be learning / doing during the playing of the clip. Use some still images from the video clip to develop a suitable teaching sequence over the next pages of your notebook. Use the last page of the file to briefly evaluate the success / problems around using this resource with your children and your own opinion of using video clips in this way.
