Overview

Demonstrate an understanding of how the advanced features of the Smart Notebook including Smart recorder, split view, hyperlinking and embedding sounds can enhance teaching and learning.

Demonstration and modelling.

Look at how other files and websites can be added to a Notebook presentation by adding them to the attachments tab. Explore how these resources can be launched directly from a notebook page by using hyperlinks. Model how to make use of hyperlinking between pages in a notebook file. Look at the built in screen video recorder facility and discuss how it can be used to enhance teaching and learning. Run sound files directly from links on a page.

Teacher task

Produce a notebook file to use with your class which uses the following: A hyperlink to a website. A hyperlink to a document (could be a word doc, powerpoint, another notebook file, video clip, etc.) An embedded sound relevant to the teaching. The activity should also include a hyperlink to another page in the presentation. You could use the example in the attachments and add that to your own presentation. The first page should have clear objectives and instructions of how to use the resource and the last page should be a brief summary of how the session went and how the hyperlinking added to the lesson.
