Overview

21st century learning continues to move at pace with pupils engaging purposefully with new and existing technologies utilising social / communication tools in and out of school. The adoption of technologies to support learning and teaching in Bradford schools also continues to gather momentum with growing numbers of schools opting for a managed wireless infrastructure using a variety of ‘connected' technologies rather than a traditional ‘ ICT suite'. This is enabling pupils to access personalized teaching and learning resources through appropriate devices as and when they need them leading to a greater independence in learning supported by online collaboration, communication and reflection with peers.

Changes to the Primary curriculum continue to identify the positive impact of using technologies to access digital content and allowing pupils to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding by creating digital learning materials including and incorporating a variety of media such as video, animation and audio.

In order for schools to successfully integrate these changes into their curriculum the CPD needs of all staff have to be identified and supported and this is reflected in our CPD offering for the year; courses have been designed to support the development and delivery of an exciting 21st Century creative curriculum by all teachers and subject co-ordinators. Aware of the safeguarding issues around an increasingly connected learning environment we will continue to put the safe and responsible use of technologies at the heart of the support we deliver.

We have reviewed the existing curriculum ICT Teaching & Learning support package we have offered to schools over this academic year and based on feedback from schools have redeveloped our support packages.

The existing packages have been based on a 1 star to 5 star. The curriculum ICT team offer curriculum support to schools to help them use ICT effectively to raise standards across the curriculum and to use ICT successfully to support whole school improvement and is managed by Paul Scott. The curriculum ICT team provide training courses, INSET, cluster meetings, email support and content via this website and here

The team is a traded service and as such has to charge for its services. Due to the success of our team strategy over the last few years we are now pleased to report that we are inundated with requests from schools looking for support and services.

Due to demand we have to prioritise our time to those schools that purchase support from our team, unfortunately this means we can no longer offer support to schools who do not directly purchase our support or subscription services. Instead these schools will be encouraged to use our online forum and FAQS on this website to deal with these requests.

To help you decide which support option is best for your school we have created a spreadsheet that will allow you strategically plan your school's Curriculum ICT CPD opportunities for the year. Please click here to access a copy of the spreadsheet.

Please click here to access a sample spreadsheet outlining costs and savings for a school as an example.

Our normal subscription service runs from September to July and the offers on the Support Options tab have been developed to provide a cost effective service to schools who wish to subscribe to Curriculum ICT support for the remainder of this academic year.
