In order to help schools in delivering ICT effectively across the curriculum and supporting whole school improvement through the use of ICT Becta have developed the online Self Review Framework tool. This allows school SMT in conjunction with the ICT subject leader and school technical support provider to get an overview of how effectively ICT is being used and manged in the school. Once this is done schools can use this information to inform future ICT development planning linked to the SIP. If a school can demonstrate effective use of ICT in all elements of the Self Review Framework then they can apply for the ICT Mark which is a nationally accredited award for effective and strategic use of ICT in schools. The SRF will also allow schools to plan their long term use of ICT to support Becta's 'Next Generation Learning Charter' which states that schools will: Develop a shared vision for the use of technology Plan the use of ICT across the curriculum Use technology to enhance learning and support Assess how technology is supporting their pupils' learning Ensure all staff and learners can use technology effectively and safely Use technology to extend learning beyond the school Make sure they have safe, secure and sustainable resources Use technology to help learners progress and achieve In order to access the SRF you need to login and register your school. Please be aware that the school may already be registered and you will need the password from the registered user to access the site. If you have difficulty with this ring Becta directly on 0845 053 5534 to reset your user password and details. Click here to access the SRF |
