Education Bradford's curriculum ICT team support schools with the use of ICT across the whole school. As well as the subscription package meetings and planned CPD sessions already outlined we also offer staff meetings, half day and full day courses at schools on demand to meet their individual needs

We are a cost recovery team and so we have to charge for our services; these services can be purchased separately or through support package subscriptions.

 

Whole day INSET: £500 per day

Half day INSET: £275 per half day

Staff meeting: £180

Twilight: £200

Advanced Smartboard Training

This is a series of 5 sessions delivered over the academic year including teacher tasks which leads to a Bradford Accredited Certificate.

Introduction to smart Notebook 10

This can be a staff meeting outlining the new features of version 10 or a half day/twilight opportunities with hands on sessions for staff to experience the new features and discussion on using the features effectively in the classroom. Similar IWB sessions can be delivered with a curriculum focus such as Literacy, Numeracy and Science.

This can be a staff meeting outlining the features of the relevant Promethean software for the Primary Schools or a half day/ twilight session with hands on opportunities for the staff to experience the new features and discussion on using the features effectively in the classroom. Blogging

This can be a staff meeting introducing blogging including a blog set up for the school and a short session on how to use it. We also offer a more in-depth twilight/half day session with more opportunities for staff to create blogs and a look at how blogs can be used effectively to support teaching and learning.

Podcasting

This can be a staff meeting introducing podcasting using Podium (free software for all BLN schools) including a short session on how to use it. We also offer a more in depth twilight/half day session with more opportunities for staff to create podcasts and a look at how podcasts can be used effectively to support teaching and learning. Education City

This can be a staff meeting introducing Education City (free access for all BLN schools) and includes a short hands session looking at the materials in the resource and the most effective ways to access them. We also offer a more in-depth twilight/half day session with more opportunities for staff to investigate how Education City can be used effectively to support teaching and learning. This includes looking at some case studies and setting up 'My Cities' in the resource to support personalised learning.

Photostory 3

This can be a staff meeting introducing Photostory 3 (free software downloadable from the Microsoft website) this includes staff producing their own Photostory project. We also offer a more in-depth twilight/half day session with more opportunities for staff to create photostories and a look at how this software can be used effectively to support teaching and learning. This can also be delivered as a half day/whole day teaching session to children see digital days section for more details.

ICT in the Foundation Stage

This is a twilight/half day session outlining how to embed suitable ICT effectively in the foundation stage. It will include access to suitable hardware/software and websites and discussion on how to deliver this across the curriculum.

E-safeguarding

This can be a staff meeting introducing key elements of E-safety focusing on issues relevant to staff such as the benefits of the internet electronic communication, examples of these, the danger involved and acceptable use policies for the staff and pupils. Education Bradford also run a half day E-safety conference aimed at SMT/School E-safety officers.

ICT Scheme of work

This can be a staff meeting introducing the new Scheme of work and how to use it to plan ICT effectively across the curriculum. This can be delivered as a twilight/half day session allowing year groups/subject leaders to look at the scheme in more details and incorporate this into their subject area or year group plannig effectively. Where requested we can also include hands on sessions using appropriate hardware/software outlined in the SoW . Education Bradford also run a half day SOW conference aimed at ICT leaders and teachers.

Mobile Learning

This is a twilight/half day session outlining what mobile/handheld learning is and how it can have a positive impact on teaching and learning. The session includes hands on access to the latest devices available, discussion of the mobile projects being run in Bradford schools and materials/information to help schools start their own projects. These is also a free user group called bMoble providing meetings and support to schools interested in mobile learning.

Digital Animation

This can be a staff meeting introducing Digital Animation and Includes staff producing their own Animation project. We also offer a more in-depth twilight/half day session with more opportunities for staff to create animations and a look at how animation can be used effectively to support teaching and learning. This can also be delivered as a half day/whole day teaching session to children - see digital days section fro more details. We can support any software/hardware schools prefer or use our own resources including digital blue animation, I can animate or Monkey Jam.

Kar2ouche

Kar2ouche is an exciting piece of software available from Immersive Education. It allows storyboarding, and the creation of video sequences including recorded narration using 3D characters based on a wide range of curriculum subjects. The staff meeting introduces the software and includes short hands on session using the basic features. We also offer a more in-depth twilight/half day session with more opportunities for staff to create more complex videos / animation and a look at how the resource can be used effectively to support teaching and learning. This can also be delivered as a half day / whole day teaching session to children - see digital days section for more details.

BLN resources

This is a twilight/ half day session highlighting the resources available to BLN Schools. These include SCRAN, Education City, Big Bus, Pathe News and Audio networks. The main focus of the session is to allow schools to get hands on experience of any of the resources above and discussion about how these resources can be used affectively to enhance teaching and learning.

ICT assessment

This is a staff meeting looking at how staff can accurately and quickley asses ICT levels using work produced through discrete or cross-curricular ICT.
