Welcome to the Smart IWB cluster group area. This area is available to all schools who have subscribed to the 'Clusters' this year. The area provides information about other cluster members and details of the forthcoming meetings. There is also a forum for all users to submit queries and offer advice to other members. Members can download / upload a wide range of resources through the resource area.

The clusters are aimed at getting staff certified with reference to their IWB skills and knowledge. The courses cost £250 (£230 for Silver / Gold subscriber schools) per person and involves attendance at several workshops over the year.

Each of the 5 meetings will start at 4.00pm and finish no later than 5.30pm. The sessions will be carried out in a classroom with a Smart IWB at the allocated school. There will be one meeting per half term.

Teacher comments about the IWB cluster training for 2007 - 2008

Below are a few of the comments from staff who attended the course last year.

'The meeting has been a real asset to me as it has made me focus more on the use of the IWB within many more lessons than previously. It has improved the quality of my teaching through better organisation which enables me to spend more time teaching.'

'It was fantastic seeing the way that the children reacted to all the new elements of my notebooks. They were so encouraging that I couldn't wait to learn more. It was also really evident that my skill level had increased'

'I feel that I use about 80% of the new skills every day now and I cannot think of a meeting which has had a bigger practical impact on my teaching since completing teacher training.'
