consultants are working alongside Literacy colleagues to pilot a project using 21st century technologies to improve standards in reading. The project is targetting pupils at level 2 in order to help them progress succesfully to level 3. We are investigating the use of iPod touches and iPads to support this project that will launch in the New Year. Further updates will be available via this blog.

||The last round of training for schools engaged with the Media Literacy project is this week. TLS consultants are working with a variety of Primary schools to use film and film making to raise standards in boys writing. The project is being run in partnership with the National Media Museum and the British Film Institute and has involved training consultants and teachers on making effective use of short films and film clips to develop boys writing. The second part of the project is aimed at further developing boys writing through the creation of their own films.

||We will be shortly launching a project that uses iPod Touches to record and share learning amongst pupils aimed at evidencing how they use and apply maths across the curriculum. The Maths team and Vicki Cox have completed the draft proposal and we have purchased some 4th generation iPod Touches with cameras. We will be carrying out some testing of these devices this week that will further inform the project specification in order to launch the project in December.
